Marilyn Monroe Dress from "Some Like it Hot"

This is a black fashionable dress. After examining the dress I am asking myself how old is this dress. It doesn't look that old and it is in great condition but it does seem  kind of old.  The material of the dress looks as if it was satin. Orry- Kelly made this dress. He was the Oscar-winning costume designer. He created this dress specifically for Marylin Monroe. She wore this dress in the "Some Like it Hot" film. The appraiser stated, "Orry-Kelly  would often actually sew her into the dresses to make them fit just right, to get that really sexy look." It is made with a material that is very similar to satin.
The dress seems to be in great condition. There is a label on it that says "Don Feld" and it identifies the dress as having been worn in the movie. The guest said that he got it from Don Feld who was a costume designer in Hollywood. He said that that was Don Feld was friend of his and gave him the dress. He assumed that Don Feld got the dress from Western Costume Company. Since this dress was worn by Marylin Monroe, one of the greatest sex symbols of the 20th century. The appraisal said that she would  not be surprised at all if it went for somewhere between $150,000 and $250,000.  This just confirms that Marilyn Monroe with her sex appeal impacted society and now anything of hers is very valuable.
